Elvis from Momo's
Took a drive out to beautiful scenic Arita with my hubby. The beautiful mountain scenery reminds me of the Appalachian mountains. If you are ever on Kyushu in Japan, Arita is a must see! This year is the 400th Anniversary of this beautiful, charming historic town. Many of the porcelain factories are open to the public and have tours. Scroll down for the link to Arita's tourist's website.
While my hubby and I were in awe of Arita's beauty. No trip to Arita is complete without a stop by the famous Moo Moo's Antiques. This charming shop has a fabulous selection of unique Japanese Antiques. Walking into to Momo's, we were greeted by 50's rock music store owner, Elvis. Not the American Baritone, pelvis thrusting soulful Rock Star (ha, ha)! This Elvis is a fan of Elvis Presley and an Antique extraordinaire! A true celebrity in Arita. Once you walk into Momo's, your breath is instantly taken away by the beautiful pieces that fill the shelves. The store has a special cozy warm feeling. The unique thing about Momo's is that they have something for every budget. You can find a tea cup for 100¥ (about $1) or a vase for 500,000¥ (about $5,000). On the day I went, we were on the hunt for a piece to add to our growing Samurai decorative collection. Momo's has 5 rooms filled with treasures! So plan on at least an hour to hunt your first time. Luckily for my hubby and I we found an amazing iron Samurai helmet. That is a perfect fit to our collection! Yay!! For directions to Momo's, click the link below! I also included a link for upcoming events in Arita, Japan! Be sure to tell Elvis, Lexie sent you! Happy Hunting
